Mr William Catchpole is the Health and Safety Lead for Brighton Lions Housing Society Ltd (BLHS).
Part of the new Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023 requires registered providers to name a person responsible for Health and Safety. This role covers tenants, employees and contractors who live and work across our sites.
The functions of the Health and Safey Lead is to:
- Monitor BLHS compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Assess risks of any failure to comply with health and safety requirements.
- Notify the Regulator for Social Housing (RSH) of any risk of material failures or any actual failures.
- Provide evidence to the RSH as to how BLHS will address any failures to comply with Health and Safety regulations.
The office will work closely with the H&S Lead to ensure all resources are available to them to enable them to carry out the requirement of the role.
